Cubs Opening Ceremony will be held on Saturday at 9.00am.

Saturday and Sunday daytime activities:

For Cubs, these will operate on Saturday from 9.30 until 12.30 and from 13.30 until 17.30 and on Sunday from 9.30 until 12.30.

The activities will include:

CRAFTS on the Cub Field (we are expecting to arrange a variety of crafts such as badge making, card making, hammer beads, tile painting, face painting, wood branding)

FUN ACTIVITIES on the Cub Field (we are expecting to arrange a variety of activities such as donkey rides, inflatables, go-karts, naturalist badge, mobile climbing unit)

CHILL ZONE in the Cub Hut (activities such as prayer tree, quiz, treasure hunt, challenge games).

SCOUTING SKILLS (we are expecting to arrange a variety of activities such as fire lighting, backwoods cooking, mini pioneering, tracking, tent pitching).  The majority of these will be open to Beavers as well as Cubs.

AERIAL RUNWAY will operate from site 44 (behind the swimming pool) on a ‘turn up and have a go’ basis.

VOLLEYBALL/TUG OF WAR – see the attached details and let us know with your final payment if your colony / pack wants to take part.

AIRSOFT on the Cub Field - this uses a low-powered air pistol firing plastic bullets, shooting at targets in an enclosed area and under close professional supervision.  The event has been cleared by the Scout Association as not requiring parental permission and is suitable for both Beavers and Cubs.  However, leaders are advised to check before the camp whether any parents/guardians would object to their child participating in this event.

ADVENTUROUS ACTIVITIES (Cubs only)
These are bell-boating (on the Delph), archery (on the archery range) and Viking re-enactment with costumes and swords for the Cubs (location to be confirmed). These will operate on time slots and with your final payment please indicate your preferences for your pack (for District bookings, please let us have the choices of each individual pack, rather than just a single District choice).

The choice of adventurous activities is for the full pack.  Therefore you need to tell us your order of preference for these three activities (i.e. first, second and third choice out of bell-boating, archery and Viking re-enactment).  You cannot split your choice between these activities (e.g. for a pack of 10, all 10 will be allocated to one activity; we cannot split the 10 between different activities).  We hope that we will be able to guarantee you a slot for your first choice and, depending on numbers, may also be able to offer you an additional slot for your second choice as well.  However, if any activity is over-subscribed, we will allocate slots based on the date when we received your deposit payment (i.e. first come, first served!)

Nearer to the time of the camp, we will be issuing you permission forms which parents/guardians will need to complete if a Cub is permitted to take part in archery and/or bell-boating.
